Wildlife portraits in oils, pastels and watercolours.

I paint detailed wildlife portraits in oils, pastels and watercolours.

I have always been passionate about wildlife and animals, a farmers daughter growing up on a mixed farm in Derbyshire I constantly disappeared to the cow sheds, pig sties, woodland and surrounding countryside with my sketchbook in hand drawing and painting anything that moved!

Painting and drawing have taken me on a huge journey of discovery, I take my inspiration from observing and researching individual species in their natural environments to really understand what makes them tick.

Enjoying your subject is fundamental, I work from life, my own photographs or collaborate with professional wildlife photographers to produce paintings that capture the unique characteristics of my chosen subjects with accurate and detailed techniques.

I paint wildlife illustrations in watercolour, I currently work with the Wildlife Trust creating interpretation boards and waymarker signs for their reserves and protected areas.

My paintings were selected in 2015 for the Artists category at Patchings exhibition, I exhibit widely with the Association of Animal Artists, NEWA, Patchings, BAS and galleries throughout the UK. The studio door is open every summer with Bucks Open Studios, demonstrating my techniques and answering questions!

I hold workshops and weekly classes in my studio near Buckingham and demonstrate to art clubs and societies throughout Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire throughout the year.
