Chesterfield,  Derbyshire

I've worked mostly for the pottery industry over the last twenty years, specialising in cute and funny characters and animals. Dogs, cats, meerkats and teddy bears, but  I can turn my hand to a tractor when required. All my work is pencil apart from a flirtation with pastel a few years ago. I take my inspiration from just trying to make people smile or occasionally laugh out loud...

I was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire in 1963 and am self taught. I developed my smidgeon of drawing talent when I moved to Stoke On Trent in 1989 and started to get work in the potteries.

I have been lucky enough to create designs for well known names such as Harrods, H.samuels, Boots, Tesco, The Works and designed a china tea set to commemorate the world famous Hamleys toy store's 250th birthday. I've also worked on commisions for Blenheim Palace and the House Of Commons.

My artwork for world renowned ''Roy Kirkham Fine China'' is sold around the world and my ''Postcards from Anderby Creek''  range sold over a million cards when first published. Another big seller was the ''Rather Charming'' range of animals for Leonardo Giftware..

Now living back in Derbyshire my work can be seen on the Create and Craft TV channel presented by Lynda Chapman.
