Trees are my most favourite things to paint, and I create them with acrylic paint.  I love swirling lines and curvy shapes, and my bold colours are almost always outlined in black, a habit I formed at the tender age of 4!  Hearts feature frequently in my trees, and recently I have been adding little birds.  My paintings are often described as feminine and happy, and they usually display a romantic notion.

Born in Caerphilly, South Wales I grew up with a love of the countryside and a passion for colour.  As a child I loved to draw, and I won competitions for designing posters & christmas cards, but my talent for creating was then locked away for many years.

I am now an Artist/Illustrator who picked up my passion back in 2001 when I returned to full time education to study Art & Design.  At the age of 39 I fell in love with creating once more, something I really enjoyed in my school years, and I knew my life would never be the same again.  Previous to this I had enjoyed a varied career, mostly connected to aviation, which started out with a role as an Assistant Air Traffic Controller in the Royal Air Force.  Marriage and bringing up my two Sons also kept me busy for many years.

My success as an artist has since involved joint exhibitions in London, Europe and the USA and I have been fortunate enough to sell my paintings to private & corporate collections across the UK and worldwide.  I feel incredibly lucky to be doing something I love on a full time basis.  My little studio on the first floor of my home overlooks a pretty lake and I count my blessings for being so fortunate.  When we moved here some 6 years ago I found my love of trees grew and grew.  I take regular walks around the lake and through a wood with my dog Callie, and there is inspiration surrounding me every day.  My Tri-Coloured Pembrokeshire Corgi, Callie, is my studio mate.  She is great company in what can be a lonely vocation, and she forces me to get out and take breaks in the countryside for fresh air and further inspiration!

It is such a joy painting my trees, and I get huge personal reward from knowing that other people enjoy viewing them too.  I do hope you will enjoy them too.
