Leicester Philharmonic Choir (the Phil) was founded in 1886 and is the largest choir in Leicestershire. With over 100 members it is considered one of the foremost choirs in the UK. Our Patron, Karl Jenkins has said of the choir that they are an excellent choir, absolutely first class, and its always a pleasure to be involved with them. Karl has conducted us on several occasions in Midlands première performances of his own works, including two performances of The Armed Man.

Because of our excellent reputation we have been invited to perform with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the London Mozart Players on several occasions. Other top-quality orchestras and famous conductors return frequently as guests of the choir.

We also receive invitations to perform at other venues. These have included appearances at the Royal Albert Hall in the Proms, Symphony Hall, Birmingham and other invitation concerts in the UK.
